James John Anning, ??b.Dec Q., 1870, Newacres, Greenwich, Kent. A Doctor ,died, Aug 14,1954, Ripon

By 1901, Jane Anning, 60, was staying with her daughter Alice and her son-in-law Walter Swain, in Godalming. Edith,.Science Mistress in Clapham was still to mar ry Samuel Westcott. James John Anning, 30, was living with his wife Sarah Isabel ,29, a daughter, Isabel Mary, 3, and son,?? Charles Clifford. 6 mos..James John had married Isabel Towers,Sep Q.,1895, in Leeds: she was one of six children of Richard and Martha Towers. of Keighley, Yorkshire. James and Isabel had three more children, Margaret Beatrice, b. Sep Q., 1904,Stephen Towers, b.Jun Q., 1908, and John Leslie, b. Dec Q., 1909..

James John Anning must have been a biganist, married to Sarah Isabel and Isabel Towers at the same time unless he really married Isabel after 1901. I have struggled with BMD, but I suggest that Sarah Isabel and Isabel are one and the same. Isabel was born about 1871. and had a daughter Isabel Mary about 1896/7and Charles about late 1900 She was enumerated as Sarah Isabel. This needs an Ancestor.com!

Scribe's note: for now we'll make James' wife be Isabel (Sarah) Towers until further evidence surfaces.
