See Help:Hyperlinking

[edit] Indentation

[edit] Paragraph

To indent entire paragraphs, start them with a ":"
:To indent entire paragraphs, start them with a ":".
Entering poems, or any block of regular text with line breaks, simply start each line with s ":".
::Line 1
::Line 2
::Line 3
will render as
Line 1
Line 2
Line 3
To increase the indentation use extra colons (e.g., :::Deeply indented text...").

[edit] First line

    Use the Indent template
{{Indent|4}}use the Indent template

[edit] First Character (Drop Cap)

Drop Caps are useful when there is enough text for at least three lines etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. so the descender has somewhere to go.....

{{Dropcap|D}}rop Caps...

This works fine for normal sized text. You might need more control...

<FONT SIZE ="+1">{{Dropcap|D|0.10em|450%}}rop Caps with more parameters...</FONT>

results in:

Drop Caps with more parameters makes a big difference etc. etc. etc. etc etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.etc. etc. etc. etc etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

[edit] Special HTML characters

There are a number of characters that you can't type on a regular keyboard. For example the m-dash — which is wider than aregular -. To use the m-ash, you enter the text &mdash. But what happens if you want use an "&"? Answer - "&amp;" Similarly there are also some "reserved" characters that you may want to use, most notable < and >. here's a list of the more popular ones and their meanings

&nbsp;

Non breaking space

&amp;

Ampersand (&)

&mdash;

m-dash (—)

&lsquo;

left single quote (`)

&rsquo;

right single quote (’)

&lt;

left angle bracket (<)

&gt;

right angle bracket (>)

The official list of predfined characters uses
<!ENTITY iexcl  CDATA "&#161;" -- inverted exclamation mark -->
to represent a "¡", but you would use "&iexcl;" or "&#161"; in your text.

!Hola¡   Pret à manger?
<font size=5>!Hola&iexcl; Pret &agrave; manger?</font>

[edit] Citations

To add a citation[1] is very easy - you put the citation inline with your main text and then end it with <references />
...., for example:
:to add a citation<ref>Citation text</ref> is very easy - you put the...
Note that you can click on the number to get to the citation and click on the ↑ to get back to the text.
<references />
  1. Citation text
