The work of the contributers is what this site is all about!

This site and several others are maintained by Frank Middleton at Apogee Communications Technologies. It runs on entirely on Open Source Software and is based on Mediawiki, (written in php) which is used by Wikipedia. It also uses scripts written in Perl and Python, on a Linux host and is served by Apache and MYSQL. Backups and the daily update script (Perl and Python) run on a Sun/Solaris Sparc machine with 4 cpus and 4GB as a cron script at around 2AM EDT. Glue code is written in a mixture of Perl and Bash scripts (see the Zoo for a complete list).

The Family Tree Generator is on freshmeat and is written in Perl and here is the attribution:

The family tree software is absolutely free. Nevertheless to keep it alive donations are needed.
