Biography
SourceMajor General George Brown Mellersh was christened 12th of March 1828. He was a Colonel in the Royal Artillery and promoted to Major General in the India service.
According to Harts Army List of 1870 George had served 25 years in the army. His military career included being appointed First Class Commander of Ordnance Bombay 1/12/1863 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He also served as Deputy Field Commissary of Ordnance with the Persian Expedition of 1857 [Medal]
