SourceFrederick Agar HANSARD I, b. 10 Jan 1799 in Bristol; occupation Apothecary & Surgeon MRCS. He married (1) Ann LITTLE; married 1 Aug 1828 in St Andrew, Clifton, BRISTOL - both of Parish. He married (2) Agatha Wilhelmina SNOW; married 10 Apr 1855 in St Pancras, Middlesex, London - by licence. Alexander Hansard, father, dead, Joseph Snow, father, dea; b. 1824 in Fullage, Berkshire. (daughter of Joseph SNOW and Caroline Elizabeth BARCLAY nee Whalley). Frederick died 4 Oct 1863 in Montacute, Somerset. Trained at St Bartholomew's Hospital, and became a licentiate of the Society of Apothecaries in 1827, and M.R.C.S. 1828. (His father's name given as Alexander at wedding to Snow)- Lived Hinton, near Bath - cert of Qualification 26/7/1827 at Apothacary Hall London. Now housed in Guildhall Library, London. See file for subjects. Pigot's List of 1830 quote 'Frederick Hansard, Surgeon, of 6 Grosvenor Place, Bristol. Presumably started practice at Clifton, but soon afterwards, moved to Montacute, Somerset. Here he became surgeon to the Yeovil Union plus 2 other friendly Societies. UK census 1841 lists:- Frederick, Head, b l800, Ann, Wife, b l809, Catherine, child, b 1839 Montacute - Parish Montacute. hundred Tintinhull-Reg dist Yeovil (sub reg. Martock). Was living near St Martin in the Fields in the first half of the 19th Century UK Census 1851 lists:- Bishopton, Frederick Agar Hansard. 51, Surgeon, St Paul's Gloucester, and servant, Ann Harris. So Ann Little could have been dead by then. 1861 Census UK lists Frederick Hansard, b abt 1806. Surgeon. Back Lane, born Gloucestershire No 10 district - Agatha W - wife, -age 34-born Berkshire, Daughter Margaret-unmarried-16-born Montacute. Somerset - Montagu -son-5-born Montacute. - Edith-Dau-2-born Montacute, - Alice-D-l-born Montacute - plus Msry I Williams-s-servant-unm-I843. Montacute.
Was at brother Nestor's wedding in 1824. The Times of 3Oth Dec 1835 lists F Hansard. Municipal Elections, Harwich. Ann: In I84S, she is shown as the owner of a small house in Bath, in Tyning Lane, and her sister-in-law, Mary was staying there when her son Oliver Cromwell St John was born.
