The editor has introduced the entirely fictitious Father John as a putative father for the five Johns documented in the Vicar Thomas Phillipps’ Book (see Gelly John I) in order to tie them into the main tree. Their real father would probably have been born around 1615, presuming, as seems likely, that they were all of one family.
