The "reception" was held at "Uplands Farm", Froghole near Edenbridge at the home of George Smith (Amy Ann"s cousin). Aunt Nell writes "I was chief bridesmaid with Annie Smith and four other children all in white silk. My dress was of a primrose colour".
Arnold Middleton recalls his sisters in his poem "A Prodigal"s Return." The poetry book containing the poem has a loving inscription to his sister Rose, on the frontispiece.
