She married John Edward DRAPER, married 1 Nov 1883 in St Lukes, Burwood, Sydney (2318/1887) Canterbury; b. 11 Feb 1858 in Devonshire, England, (son of Edward DRAPER I and Mary Ann WILLIAMS) occupation Military Band Leader; d. 27 Feb 1916 in Beaumont St, Campsie, Sydney; buried: in Rockwood Cem CofE. Clara died 22 Jan 1944 in St Luke's Rec, Mosman Sydney. John: Occ. Military Band Leader (Instructor) - at time of Death. Military Warrant Officer, lst class/ Chief paymaster for Liverpool (Camden) - lived in saddle! Best friend Robert Black conducted burial ceremony. Arrived in Aust about 1883. Once at Inverrell - leader of Brass Band and gave private singing lessons at National School Bldg. circa 1880's. Won the "King's Shoot" in 1890 something & 1913 - President Kruger cup. In 1886-7 living at 87 Seymour St Bathurst. Once owned 82 Cascade St Paddington Sydney. 1881 Census, England, lists John Edward Draper as a 22 year old Bandmaster in the Royal Navy aboard the ship 'Wolverine' at sea. Parents' home listed as No 9 Holland St, Barnstaple. National archives list him as being in Corps. King's Liverpool Regiment (No 88242), Corporal. Medal card. Image ref 124/862/14663. On 16 Jan 1882, HMS 'Wolverine', screw Corvette, was presented to NSW Govt as a 'Royal Gift' - used for NSW Training Brigade.
